Happy 6th Birthday Monica!

Corn dogs, chips, popcorn and oranges for a birthday party lunch. Monica’s first wardrobe change of the day. We borrowed the Shaw’s stash of dress-up again this year.

The beautiful cake made by Aunt Abigail. I think she really outdid herself this year! Little Violet enjoyed the dress up and the party.

I love Monica’s expression: disbelief at her good fortune, I think! She was equally happy about the cake and about being the first-time owner of a Barbie doll.

Since we couldn’t quite get a picture of Monica blowing out her candles, we had her do a re-do shot. I think maybe she is not going to be an actress. Note her second wardrobe change: Cinderella.

Maybe watching little girls open presents isn’t at the top of their list of Fun Things To Do?

I love Owen’s hat in this picture. Must be one of the Shaw’s.

Third wardrobe change of the day: Rapunzel.  The dress was her favorite present, though she was delighted with them all!

Including us there were 21 children and five mothers in attendance. Quite a birthday extravaganza for my limited party planning talents! I’m glad we went to the effort though – The pre-, during-, and post-party excitement and joy for Monica was totally worth it. Smile And so thankful, too, for good friends, old and young. The moms really pitched in to help with the food and the crafts, and the children got along splendidly. God gives us such good gifts!
